Ocean Dining Table
This was the first dining table that William created. It was made for his Mum who requested an Ocean Theme.
William sourced a slab of wood and cut it down the middle - flipping the two parts - to create a river channel, he then built a mould using wood, polypropylene sheet, barrier tape and silicone sealant, then placed the slabs inside.
A sealing and base coat of resin was then applied and then the depth built up with additional resin pours.
William then created a wave effect using white pigment and a hairdryer to give the impression that the waves were breaking against the shore, and finally finished and polished the table and attached the legs.
Thank you for sharing William, it's a beautiful table!ABOUT WILLIAM O'TOOLE
William lives in Hertfordshire in the UK and when he isn't making tables with resin he works in Production Finance in the Film & TV industry.
A few years ago William saw a video on YouTube of a coffee table made with pennies and he wanted to make his own. So he started with that and then decided to make a dining table with some rocks he collected on a trip to the Scottish Highlands.
He decided he needed more practise to achieve the results he wanted and set about getting lots of practical experience by creating 15 more tables - mainly for family and friends - and they look amazing!
