Jaded Copper and White Resin Coffee Table
Our customer Steve designed and produced this stunning Jaded Copper and White Resin coffee table. This project is the 'proof of concept' table for the full size dining table he wants to produce to finish off his kitchen.
Having used this project to work out the engineering and pouring sequences for the table on a smaller scale, Steve will now confidently be able to scale up to the full dining table.
The coffee table measures 1140mm x 480mm and is made using four individual MDF sections. Once sized and shaped the MDF was undercoated with a white automotive undercoat, and then 4 coats of Appliance White gloss spray was applied and sanded before the resin was applied. The resin finishes and flood coat were all done using GlassCast 3 Resin and one of the Jaded Copper kits plus some additional pigments to give the effect Steve was trying to achieve. The final stage was a clear resin flood coat and once cured the legs were attached.

ABOUT STEVE
Steve originally started experimenting with resin for casting parts for classic cars that were no longer available, making knobs for light switches, door lock knobs, little clips for behind the dash etc. Progressing on to making resin jewellery and from there to creating resin countertops on his kitchen work surfaces as he loved the glossy smooth appearance and the feel of resin. Once the kitchen counters had been completed, Steve wanted a dining table to complement the new stunning counters. He had considered a river table but decided against that on the basis that it would be too heavy to move around. Steve then started to consider other concepts and came up with the idea to create a runner table using resin.
