Here's our brilliant range of Funky Table kits containing all the materials you need to create your own fabulous funky table, all you need to supply is the table!
Choose from Cow Print, Flowers or Cosmic and away you go.
Your tutor for this kit is the thoroughly lovely full-time homeware and jewellery designer Paige Alexander. Paige loves teaching people how to create using resin and takes you through the whole process for each project from start to finish in a full length video tutorial and accompanying booklet.
As well as Paige's brilliant tutorial, the kit also includes resin, pigments or flowers and much more… we’ve thought of everything so that you only have to supply the table and bring your creativity!
The tables Paige makes Funky in the tutorial and guide, are round tray tables measuring 45cm in diameter (across). You could also use the following alternatives - Square 40 x 40cm or Rectangle 50 x 30cm.
We strongly recommend you work on a table that’s a similar size so you can simply use the quantities listed throughout the guide for your project, this would use less than 500g of GlassCast, which means you would have enough resin to create two Funky Tables of this size.

The GlassCast resins are sensitive to low temperatures and if the resin gets very cold (either in storage or transport where vehicles and depots are rarely heated) or it sits still for prolonged periods, it can crystallise. This can produce a variety of effects ranging from cloudiness, flakes suspended in the resin and in the worst cases the whole lot can solidify. Fortunately this does not damage the resin at all and can be reversed by warming the resin in its container with the lid securely in place.
You'll need to hold it at 40-50°C for a few hours as it does take quite a bit of energy to reverse the crystallisation. The longer it has been crystallised, the longer it will take to reverse. You could achieve this by sitting it directly onto a radiator or putting it into an oven on a low setting. For best results we recommend standing the container in hot water (although you will have to change the water a few times to maintain the temperature) but this will return the resin to its clear, liquid form ready to be used for your project. We have yet to see resin that will not eventually return to being clear. Even when the resin has become a solid lump, with enough heat and time it will return to a liquid.
We do also have a video which shows the process of reversing the crystallisation. This is the link to this below if you would like to take a look:
