Copper Resin River Shelf
Leo had a piece of English Yew which he used to create this special project.
Sadly his pet Shar-Pei 'Noodles' lost his battle with cancer recently, and Leo wanted to create a special shelf to display his picture on to remember him by.
The shelf was created using Glasscast 50 with a copper pigment and rose gold detailing. To finish, Leo trimmed and sanded to 3000 grit and polished to the beautiful result you can see in the images.
What a beautiful project, thank you for sharing!ABOUT LEO, HAND I CRAFT
After Leo was involved in a serious car accident he suffered nerve damage resulting in the loss of the use of his dominant right hand and arm. In addition to the physical injuries the mental side of dealing with things also took a significant turn for the worse.
Leo turned to woodworking and making things using resin as a form of therapy and to support recovery. Leo and his partner Pam set up Hand-i-Craft to show others who may be suffering with physical limitations, chronic pain or low self-esteem that you can find a new skill in life and try to focus on what you can do and not what you can't!
Leo also set up a YouTube channel both to help rebuild his self confidence and to demonstrate how he makes projects using just one hand - you are an inspiration Leo!
