American Walnut Desk

The team at Cannon & James combine a range of sustainable materials, which they source locally where possible and create bespoke, eye-catching designs.

This beautiful desk was handcrafted by the team using a beautiful slab of American Walnut and blue metallic resin to create the river channel.

The next step was to pour the resin, coloured with beautiful blue metallic pigment into the river and to fill some small cracks in the slab. The amazing swirls in the resin were created as the resin begins to thicken, this helps to retain the pattern.

Once cured the team demoulded, routed and trimmed the slab before the really hard work begins, the time consuming finishing and polishing process, but when you get a result like this beautiful desk, it's worth all the work.

Thank you for sharing your work with us, another fantastic project!

ABOUT CANNON & JAMES LTD

Cannon & James Ltd

Established in March 2020 and in the South East of England, in a small town in Buckinghamshire, we are a family run business specialising in the design and creation of contemporary furniture and other bespoke products.

With a limited range of tools and utilising our own living room as the main workspace back in 2017, we successfully made our first epoxy resin coffee table. We instantly fell in love with the beauty of the wood’s natural grain and texture, which worked in contrast with the striking appearance of the epoxy resin. We were inspired and continued to make one-off pieces for friends and family over the years that followed. In March 2020, we made the decision to turn our hobby and passion into a business and launched Cannon & James LTD.

The Company name was formed in memory of our late Father and Grandfather Glyn “the Cannon” James, who himself was a keen woodworker and was always encouraging us to follow in his creative footsteps. Since then, we have strived to find new ideas and have worked closely with our clients to design and create bespoke and eye-catching products “with an edge”.

Stunning projects, we look forward to seeing your future work!
