ABOUT ONE LIFE WOOD
Dom established One Life Wood in 2020, initially as a hobby and creative outlet from his day job as a PE teacher and study in Integrative Psychotherapy. Dom's passion for working with wood is born from years spent as a child tinkering on little jobs with his Grandad and what began as a hobby has blossomed into creating a range of unique designs and products for my customers.
Fast forward to 2022, Dom made the choice to leave his full time position as Head of PE in a secondary school enabling him to concentrate on his psychotherapy qualification, as well as to pursue and grow his home business with wood and epoxy. The decision to leave full time employment and to concentrate on his passions was an easy one; it has allowed him to fully immerse himself in work that brings him joy, as well as soaking up the benefits of working from home and spending more time with the family.
The natural beauty of wood coupled with GlassCast epoxy provides an appealing combination of rustic and contemporary elegance. All of the timber, primarily oak and ash, is sourced within ten miles of One Life Wood in North Yorkshire. Dom is committed to giving back to the Earth which provides the materials for his craft. The timber supplier never brings down a healthy tree and has also more than offset their use of timber by planting to date over 14000 hedges, saplings and trees; One Life Wood is now proudly part of this initiative.
From coasters and serving boards, to inclusion boards and dining tables, customers can be involved in every step of the process to produce bespoke end pieces. If you like what you see and are interested in seeing more pieces from One Life Wood, you can follow the links below.
