Endless Possibilities

What to Make

GlassCast 10 is used by thousands of jewellery makers and resin crafters to create an almost limitless range of jewellery and craft pieces such as pendants, rings, cufflinks, earrings, keyrings, fridge magnets, memorials and much more.

What to Add - Pigments, Dyes and Inclusions

Choosing how to colour, tint and embellish your GlassCast 10 jewellery pieces is where you can really express your creativity.

Included in the GlassCast range are CULR pigments, SHIMR powders and alcohol inks; all of which can be used to add vibrant colour, subtle tints, or glittering metallic effects to your pieces.

Beyond resins and pigments, the clarity and stable epoxy chemistry of GlassCast make it ideal for adding petals, keep-sakes, precious metals, stones, shells, gems and more. The possibilities really are endless.

What to Cast Into

There are so many ways you can use GlassCast 10 to create resin jewellery, here are some of the most popular:

  • Silicone or plastic jewellery moulds – There are hundreds of options of ready-made jewellery moulds available from the likes of amazon and ebay; you’ll easily find moulds for bangles, pendants, bracelets, rings, jewels and more.
  • Cookware moulds – In most cases it’s also fine to use silicone moulds designed for chocolate making and baking or even plastic ice trays but don’t use them anymore for baking!
  • Artisan moulds – Some resin artists sell their own bespoke silicone moulds for more unusual pieces. Check Etsy for some really original moulds.
  • Simple barrier boxes – Often you’ll be cutting, shaping and finishing a resin piece by hand, in which case the mould can often just be a temporary container made from strips of plastic, hot glued or taped into place.
  • Wood – Many makers cast resin straight into knot holes, cavities or broken pieces of wood which can then be machined to make amazing wood-and-resin jewellery.
  • Your own unique silicone moulds – For the more adventurous jewellery makers, you can make your own unique silicone moulds using a liquid silicone, such as AS40 Addition Cure Silicone from Easy Composites.

* Silicone and polypropylene plastic moulds should be fine but for other materials, test compatibility first to ensure the resin won’t stick.

Ambient Temperature, Pot-Life and Pour Depth

The GlassCast range of resins, in common with all epoxies, generate heat as part of the curing process. The amount of time the mixed resin can spend in the pot, as well as the maximum depth it can be poured at, will vary depending on the ambient temperature.

For best results, we recommend working in a consistent room temperature of 18-20°C. GlassCast can be used in temperatures from 15 to 25°C but higher temperatures will reduce the pot-life and the maximum pour-depth of the resin significantly, as shown in the table below.

Ambient Temperature 15°C (minimum) 20°C (minimum) 25°C (minimum)
Maximum Time in Pot (Pot Life) 60 mins 45 mins 30 mins
Maximum Pour Depth 10mm 10mm 6mm
Initial Cure 48 hrs 36 hrs 24 hrs

Can’t find the answer you’re looking for?Ask our technical team a question.

Yes the cured GlassCast 10 can be turned in a wood lathe and machined with woodworking tools in general. Allow a minimum of 48 hours to fully harden before machining begins.

Ideally you want to pour each layer when the previous is cured to the B stage - this means firm but tacky. The time it takes to get there depends on temperature and depth of cast but you are roughly looking around 6 hours.

Customer Product Reviews for Epoxy Resin for Jewellery

Perfectly clear, bubble-free resin that produces consistent results. As a premium product, it does suffer with crystallisation, but always returns to water clear after sitting in 60+ degree water for a while. Minimal shrinkage is also a big plus point.

I've been using glass cast 50 since the beginning and have now produced nearly 20 river tables and similar projects. I tested a few other resins in the beginning and settled on glass cast 50 because of the cure speed and bubble free finish. Other resins I tested for river tables were much too slow to cure. One took a week to cure and still felt too soft to machine properly. Great product.

TOP PRODUCT!! have used Glasscast 50 for 3 river tables now, they have all worked perfectly and great technical support from Warren who helped me figure out a problem I was having with tiny air bubbles (was caused by jiffy mixer - dont use one!). Great product, great service.

brilliant product, really happy with the end result, did exactly what it said on the tin. only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because it would have been better if I could buy a 2.5kg kit, the 5 was too big and the 1kg is too small.

I have been working with resin for quite a while now, using various resin products, with varied results. After trying GlassCast, I have found a product I'm sticking with. Easy to work with, easy to finish. Night and day from others I have used. Highly recommended.

I really like this product and would definitly recommend it to anyone. This was my first go at making resin jewelry and I'm really pleased with the results. I will be making lots of Christmas presents myself this year which is much nicer than just buying things. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I think the delivery cost is to high and should be free. Especially when you are just starting out £6 is a lot of money.

I use Glasscast 10 and Glasscast 3 for my jewellery pieces. I'm starting my own Youtube channel and will be showing other beginners how to make their own resin jewellery and I will always be using this resin. I like to include things like petals, seeds and other keepsakes in my resin castings and so the fact that this resin is really clear and bubble free is very important. Always fast delivery and help from the friendly staff at Glasscast when I need it! FAB : )

Great resin, works brilliantly with alcohol inks to create beautiful translucent peices like my gummy bear fridge magnets. I also use lots of other types of pigments and they've all worked great with no colour change or funny reactions. Definitely recommended for anyone wanting to start making they're own jewellery.

I use GlassCast 10 with alcohol inks to make keyrings and pendants. I love this resin because of how clear it is and how there are no trapped air bubbles. It also has no smell which is really important to me because I do my resin work in my spare room and don't want to smell the house out!
