Handcarved Wood and Resin Turtle Table
The team at TIKKIT Designs created this stunning side table from a piece of Lebanon Cedar. With the correct size slab chosen, the Turtles were carved into the centre with the surrounding area hollowed out.
A seal coat was applied before the water pour was added around the turtles using resin pigmented with blue to make the turtles appear to be swimming. The slab then had a barrier made to surround all edges and a clear fill and surface pour was applied to produce a flat top surface, whilst retaining the 3D look of the design. Finally the table was flatted and finished to a high gloss, before being fitted with hairpin legs.
Thank you for sharing your work with us Kate, it's amazing!
